I can't believe no one responded to this.
I was a lineman 42 years. Under Lineco I got the best treatment around.
Disbaled and retired my lineco cost me $435 a month and medicare part B cost Ruby $75 and me another $75. Thats almost $600 a month you have to look forward to. Check with Paul or Rudy. They won't steer you wrong and if Obama doesn't get his health care bill pasted, your looking at one messed up economy.
Been there done that.

This is our fight come 2010 Elections in November
DearEditor:I am retired an pay for my wife and myself with medicare and Secondary with drug benefits, $578 a month for health insurance. When planning 30 plus years ago this amount was unheard of. Our US representatives and Senators denounced any changes in health insurance reform. At this going rate. My well planned retirement will zero out in 7 years. I made a good living as a construction line-man turning your lights back on after ice, snow, wind, lightening, storms, and tornados.I did this Kansas wide but mostly on Westar property for 42 years. I was fortunate in my chosen trade, but there are many more in Kansas that didn't get my breaks in life.
Call it Obama Care. Call it what you want. It is a start to health insurance reform, and it is time for our congress men and women to stop this Party of NO! NO! NO! INSURANCE FOR KANSAN! If they can improve the bill fine. But we will have this change with or without the presently elected office holders. Now some facts:
Here is the biggest lies of this last year.
Lie [1]
The republicans did not have a say in the drafting of the Health Insurance Reform LAW. You noticed I didn't call it health care.
Fact the repuglickings watered down the bill with 163 amendment. They voted NO.
Lie [2] The bill was rammed through illegally.
Fact: It was pasted with a majority vote of duly elected congress men and women using the same means the repuglicking used 20 of the 23 times reconciliation has been used.
Lie [3]
We as republicans had ideas of our own.
Fact: The republicans came out waving three pages of what they called ideas and with no agenda to pay for these ideas. My auto policy I renew every 6 months is more than three pages.FACT; This present Health Care Reform LAW looks almost page for page what the republicans presented in 1994 to counter Hilary Care.
Lie [4] The democrats forced an unread 2,600 pages bill out.
War & Peace (I read it years ago) is 1284 pages contain (see below) about 600,000 words. That's 522 words a page The bills not the LAW contain 320,000 words. So even if the democrats used every big word in the Dictionary at 522 words a page the health care bill is?????????????????? GIVE UP ??????
612 PAGES LONG'War and Peace' – some people consider it the greatest book ever written, but most people recognize the novel because at 1,284 pages its length is often the butt of jokes. Now imagine trying to read something that long overnight."
Actually, Leo Tolstoy's tome is longer than either bill. Full translated versions are nearly twice as long.
The bill passed by the House is 319,145 words. The Senate bill is 318,512 words, shorter than the House version despite consuming more paper. Various versions of Tolstoy's novel are 560,000 to 670,000 words.Bush's education act tallied more than 280,000 words.
By now, the full draft of Reid's bill that had circulated in the corridors and landed so prominently on Republican desks has been published in the Congressional Record in the official and conventional manner.
The type is small and tight. No hernias will be caused by moving this rendering of the bill around. Unfurling it on the Capitol steps would not be much of a spectacle.THE FULL DRAFT READ INTO THE RECORDS?
It's 209 pages.Posted 5 months ago #
